Marketing is one of the most vital and yet hardest to measure actions a company must take to be successful. EAF has been instrumental in helping all manner of companies and organizations get their message out with Business to Business marketing videos and commercials.

They include:

VCU School of Medicine

VCU School of Medicine

Eric is once again working with Joe Kuttenkuler and VCU Medical Center to provide the video content for the VCU School of Medicine’s student recruitment group.

This project introduced us to the future of Science and Medicine in the form of impressive young people.

EAF Custom Communication is producing an all encompassing video that will play in the new state of the art Visitor’s Center to help guide tourists through their vacation visits.

VCU Douglas Wilder School of Public Affairs
Eric produces more than 20 web segments for the launch of the new web site hosted by the VCU Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.

The video segments include introductions by Professors who teach many of the courses at the Wilder School and “virtual classroom” scenes, helping viewers understand the nature of the classroom activity within the School.

The footage was shot by freelance video photographers Kevin Burger and Dave Park and Joe Kuttenkuler of VCU News Services. Eric created all of the graphic elements and edited all the video segments.

VCU School of Education
Eric’s extensive work with his Alma Mater extends to the VCU School of Education as they prepared for an intense, 4 day Accreditation process with members of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)

This was a once every seven year process and Dean Beverly Warren asked me to create a video that would kick off the whole process by introducing the School of Education and the philosophies that graduate top notch teachers as they prepare to enter the classroom. VCU is so well regarded that the Superintendents of the four surrounding school systems readily agreed to speak very highly of VCU’s School of Education for the video.

The EAF Team shot and edited the entire 15 minute video in two weeks! Dean Warren says it was a great success. Alfred Shapiro, Jim Porter and VCU’s Joe Kuttenkuler, shot the video and Eric edited it.

Solomon Schechter School

A new kind of Jewish-oriented day school education is taking the country by storm and it’s called the Solomon Schechter School. The school is designed to teach secular education with Jewish themes and language running throughout. These schools combine both SOL standard learning with a solid Jewish education. Students learn how to speak Hebrew before they’re ten years old!

A Solomon Schechter has opened in Richmond and Arthur & Judy Harrow, who started the school asked me to produce a short video to show families in the Jewish community what a wonderful resource exists right here in Richmond.

Alfred Shapiro shot it and musical excellence is provided by Cantor Errol Helfman, who led the children in songs to open the video.

VCU School of Public Health

EAF Custom Communication was hired by VCU Medical School to create a video introducing the University’s new School of Public Health. VCU will have the only School of Public Health in Virginia and it have come at a better time. Modern day public health concerns reflected in Hurricane Katrina, The 9-11 attacks and the possibility of an Avian Flu epidemic have made the need for a comprehensive School of Public Health a vital component of good health care across the nation.

VCU News Services’ Joe Kuttenkuler shot the video, capturing all the vital components of the VCU Medical Center’s wide range of health care expertise. Joe also created the animated opening sequence, using Adobe AfterEffects. Eric wrote the script and edited the 17 minute video which will be used to advocate for funds and recruit both professors and students.

King William County Schools - Recruitment

King William County Public Schools came back to EAF, five years after we created their first Teacher Recruitment video to update the project for another five years of recruiting.

The fact that King William went back to EAF after a successful five year run of the video shows the confidence the School System had in our ability to communicate their message.

Bostwick Labs

EAF produced the first ever marketing video for Bostwick Laboratories Gynecor Division. Bostwick has perfected a newer, faster and more reliable method of testing for Uterine Cancer. The new method will allow for more extensive and accurate testing and is designed to minimize the cost to women.

Alfred Shapiro shot the video and Glen Piegari handled sound. Eric edited the piece on the AVID DV Express.

NBC 12

Eric Futterman has produced more than 60 commercials for NBC-12, winning nation-wide acclaim. The American Transportation Builders Association awarded one of our campaigns “Best Marketing Campaign in the Nation.”

The EAF Team, working with NBC-12 and Richmond Renaissance, produced one of Richmond's most dynamic ad campaigns. The Downtown Days/ Downtown Nights series of commercials features more than thirty restaurants, art galleries and other entertainment destinations in fast-paced spots that showcase a car full of friends shaking off the doldrums of suburbia and discovering all there is to do downtown. The spot is driven by a hot Latin Big Band sound.

Director of Photography Alfred Shapiro shot the spots with Sean Finnegan providing interior lighting. Jim Ray expertly edited the pieces utilizing the AVID non-linear suite as well as Adobe After Effects and Photoshop to add to the pace.

Eric also produced a year long campaign for Centex Homes as they worked to develop a footprint in the Richmond area.

Homebuilding Association of Richmond

When representatives of the Homebuilding Association of Richmond were going to appear on NBC-12 and WRIC-8 to highlight the 2006 Parade of Homes, they asked EAF to create a background for the interview consisting shots of beautiful homes.
We shot and edited a gorgeous 3 minute background video with homes from Powhatan to Mechanicsville. The whole piece was shot and edited in less than a week and we were able to meet their marketing budget. The Parade of Homes was a big success.

Franco’s Fine Clothing

For six years EAF served as both the agency and production company that created and produced commercials for Richmond’s premier clothing retailer.  These commercials were widely recognized for enhancing the Franco’s Brand identity throughout Central Virginia as the company expanded into Southside and Short Pump.

The best series of Franco’s spots were the concepts created by Eric Futterman and Maria Reardon, from Franco's Advertising Department. The goal was to get out into the city by showcasing such significant Richmond landmarks like the Farmer's Market, City Bar,  River Walk Apartments and Bookbinder's Restaurant.

The spots were shot by Alfred Shapiro with Glen Piegari providing location sound on the Spring spots and Jim Ray on the Fall Spots. The spots were posted at Park Group by Bill Gaff on the AVID and Filmlook and color correction was performed by Larry Whitlock in Smoke.

The stars of the spots, Evan, Melanie Kershchner, Valerie West and James Brown help bring the clothing alive.

Dr. Julie" Seminars

EAF was excited to produce the Marketing Video for new author and highly impressive seminar leader, Julie Petrella, Ph.D.

Dr. Petrella's book, Power in Times of Uncertainty, is a must read for people looking for direction in their careers and the seminar is a vital tool for organizations and corporations who are looking for ways to get peak performances out of their Associates.

The 6 minute CD-ROM will be sent out to Corporations and Organizations across Central Virginia as a marketing tool for the seminar.

Capri Jewelers
Eric directed the notorious "Yes! Yes! Yes!" spots that have helped Carpi in their effort to maintain their strong brand identity in the Richmond market. Owner Chris DeCapri wanted me to direct a spot that was a bit racy and funny. I'll say not much more other than the idea of there being a Viagra moment in the middle of the piece.

The spot was expertly edited by Todd Hervey, now with Fuel Creative. Kristin Swanson provides the exuberant Yes! sounds you hear throughout the spot.

International Banking Technology
Eric wrote and produced a slick 10 minute marketing video that was distributed on CD-Rom. International Banking Technology is the mastermind of Shawn Nole, who has programmed web-based interfaces for Collection Agencies and other companies who collect funds. They also own an impressive and sizable printing company.
